On 15-16 November 2024, the LEAD Academic Network, in collaboration with Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Shanghai University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel, held a dynamic day of academic leadership development and international collaboration at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA University Lisbon) and Fundação Oriente (Orient Foundation), bringing together distinguished experts, academics, and young leaders from Portugal, Belgium and China to NOVA University Lisbon and the Museum of the Orient.

The Young Academic and Digital Academic Leadership Development Program featured a comprehensive agenda aimed at empowering future academic leaders. The program welcomed 19 participants and five of them were from Shanghai Univeisity. The program began with welcome remarks by Prof. Joao de Matos, Vice-Rector of NOVA University, and a thought-provoking lecture on Digital Competences for Academic Leadership delivered by Prof. Milton Sousa. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops on Digital Leadership and Cross-Cultural Competences, led by skilled moderators, and attended a keynote lecture by Prof. Rita Cunha on the cross-cultural impacts on academic staff. The program concluded with a dialogue session moderated by Anthony Antoine of VUB, followed by closing remarks by Prof. Joao de Matos.


In the evening, the spotlight moved to the Fundação Oriente, where the Seminar Dialogue on Higher Education Cooperation brought together international experts to discuss key trends and challenges in academic collaboration. Highlights included insights into Portugal’s accreditation system from Prof. João Guerreiro from the Administrative Council of A3ES, an overview of the LEAD Academic Network by Prof. Chang Zhu, and a presentation by Prof. Xu Zhaoheng on Shanghai University’s Center for International Education Research. The event concluded with a dialogue on the contribution of partners’ experiences to the LEAD Academic Network, summarized by Prof. António Rendas, followed by a successful graduation ceremony where certificates were awarded to the dedicated participants from Shanghai University.

Both events emphasized the importance of digital competence, cultural awareness, and international collaboration in shaping the future of academic leadership and higher education.
All the participants from Shanghai University highlighted the importance of academic leadership development. They shared their learning experiences with the training program and the specific achievements and progress they have made through this academic and digital academic leadership training. The active, interdiscilinary, and interactive nature of the program have been highly appreciated by the training participants.
LEAD学术联盟在里斯本举办青年学术与数字学术领导力发展项目
2024年11月15-16日,在新里斯本大学、上海大学与布鲁塞尔自由大学合作下,LEAD学术联盟在新里斯本大学(Universidade NOVA de Lisboa)和东方基金会(Fundação Oriente)举办了学术领导力发展与国际合作活动,来自葡萄牙、比利时与中国的杰出专家、学者和青年学术领导者齐聚新里斯本大学与东方博物馆。
此次项目全面化的议程是青年学术与数字学术领导力发展计划的一大特色,旨在增强未来学术领导者的能力。此次活动共有19人参加,其中5人来自上海大学。新里斯本大学副校长若昂-德-马托斯(Joao de Matos)教授致欢迎辞,米尔顿-索萨(Milton Sousa)教授就学术领导的数字化能力发表了发人深省的演讲。与会者在主持人的带领下参加了关于数字化领导力和跨文化能力的实践研讨会,并聆听了 Rita Cunha 教授关于跨文化对学术人员的影响的主旨讲座。活动的最后是由 VUB 的 Anthony Antoine 主持的对话环节,Joao de Matos 教授随后致闭幕词。
项目焦点在晚上转移到东方基金会,高等教育合作研讨会对话汇聚了国际专家,讨论学术合作的主要趋势和挑战。其中的亮点包括葡萄牙A3ES管理委员会的João Guerreiro教授对葡萄牙评审制度的见解、朱畅教授对LEAD学术联盟的概述,以及徐昭恒教授对上海大学国际教育研究中心的介绍。活动最后,António Rendas 教授就合作伙伴对 LEAD 网络的经验贡献进行了总结,随后举行了成功的毕业典礼,为上海大学的五名学员颁发了证书。
两项环节都强调了数字能力、文化意识和国际合作在塑造未来学术领导力和高等教育中的重要性。来自上海大学的五位学员都强调了学术领导力发展的重要性。他们分享了参加培训项目的学习心得,以及通过此次学术与数字化学术领导力培训所取得的具体成就与进步。培训项目的活跃性、跨学科性和互动性得到了学员们的高度评价。
