PROJECTS
PhDGOV project
The PhDGov project aims to enhance the governance and management of PhD programs across Palestinian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by leveraging European expertise in this area. This initiative seeks to reform and modernize the doctoral education system in Palestine, ensuring that PhD programs are aligned with international standards and are responsive to the needs of industry and society. VUB ECHE is a main partner of the PhDGOV project.

LEAD Project
The LEAD project is an Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building Project in the field of Higher Education supported by the European Commission. The project is coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and aims to enhance the capacity of higher education institutions related to governance and academic leadership in the context of innovation and internationalisation of higher education.
The LEAD project brought together experts and stakeholders in university governance and academic leadership from EU and China. The European expertise and experiences helped the Chinese HEIs to strengthen their governance and leadership for innovation and internationalisation.

Summer & Winter School on European Education & Culture
European Culture and Education International Summer & Winter Classes welcome university students to explore European languages, literature, multilingual cultural contexts and diversified historical backgrounds and European educational systems. The programs aim to enhance international awareness and broaden international perspectives of university students through exchanges in the areas of cultures and languages.

LEAD2 Project
The LEAD2 project is built on the results of the LEAD project. The LEAD2 project focused on deeper & broader innovative capacity building on university governance and academic leadership; building Knowledge Base and Referencing tool for academic leaders. It contributed to the strengthening of the EU-China cooperation in university governance, supporting the modernisation and internationalisation and fostering innovative capacities of HEIs.

E-Teach Project
The e-Teach Project aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of teacher education through the resources and training necessary to effectively integrate digital tools into their teaching practices. By promoting innovative teaching practices and fostering the professional development of educators, teachers, and future teachers, the project seeks to contribute to the advancement of education in the digital era. The e-Teach project is an EU-supported Erasmus+ project coordinated by the EU-China Higher Education Research Center at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, with a partnership of 6 educational institutions from six countries.

Academic Leadership Training Program VUB-SHU
The VUB-SHU Academic Leadership Training program focused on the leadership and cross-cultural competence development of young academic leaders from Shanghai University. The program features interactive and dynamic engagement of young scholars in the areas of team management, digital leadership, and cross-cultural leadership skills. The program is a five-year collaboration between VUB and SHU coordinated by ECHE at VUB and the LEAD Academic Network.
