LEAD Academic Network Hosts Guest Lecture by Prof. Xu Xiaozhou on Global Entrepreneurship Education

On 27 November 2025, the LEAD Academic Network welcomed Prof. Xu Xiaozhou, UNESCO Chairholder in Entrepreneurship Education and Distinguished Yangtze River Scholar Professor of Zhejiang University, for a guest lecture titled “Towards Global Entrepreneurship Education: Experience and Perspectives from China.” The lecture provided a comprehensive overview of key theoretical discussions and global developments in entrepreneurship education.

Prof. Xu presented five major domains of entrepreneurship education research—theoretical foundations, evolutionary models, institutional mechanisms, policy benchmarking, and cross-national comparative studies—supported by his internationally published monographs and action research findings.

He examined China’s transition from quantitative expansion to quality-focused development, highlighting the influence of national policy and identifying key challenges such as capacity-building needs, resource imbalance, and institutional sustainability. He also introduced the EVPE integrated model as a framework for promoting high-quality entrepreneurship education.

In addition, Prof. Xu shared China’s ongoing efforts to build a global entrepreneurship education ecosystem, including platforms, capacity-building initiatives, and international cooperation networks led by the UNESCO Chair and the National Chapter in China. These initiatives strengthen collaboration among universities, enterprises, governments, and international organizations worldwide.
