Upcoming DAL Webinar to Explore Responsible Digital Academic Leadership

The ECHE–LEAD Academic Network Digital Academic Leadership (DAL) Webinar Series will continue on 29 May 2026 with a new session entitled “The Responsible Digital Academic Leader.” The webinar will be delivered by Marieta du Plessis from Stellenbosch University.

Scheduled from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (CET), the webinar forms part of the ongoing DAL Webinar Series jointly organised by the LEAD Academic Network and the EU-China Higher Education Research Center at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, in collaboration with World Education Research Association.

The session will focus on the role of responsible leadership in the digital transformation of higher education. Drawing on her expertise in leadership, organisational behaviour, and positive organisational psychology, Prof. Dr. Marieta du Plessis will share insights into how academic leaders can foster trust, well-being, and sustainable organisational cultures in increasingly digital academic environments.

As a registered industrial psychologist and award-winning professor, Prof. Dr. Marieta du Plessis brings extensive experience in both academia and professional consulting. Her research and professional work focus on leadership development, workplace flourishing, and organisational resilience, offering valuable perspectives for scholars, university leaders, and practitioners navigating the challenges of digital transformation in higher education.

The DAL Webinar Series aims to provide an international platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange on digital academic leadership, bringing together scholars and practitioners from around the world to discuss emerging trends, strategies, and practices shaping the future of higher education.
